My tips for Premier League matchday 17

The World Cup is over and once again, football did not come back home. But the Premier League is! Manchester City, Arsenal and all our favorite clubs are back already this week, with exciting matches that will help us get over the disappointment of having the Three Lions exiting the World Cup in the quarter final. You can find below my tips for all upcoming matches for this matchday. 

• Brentford - Tottenham. Tottenham will want to reach the podium and have a good opportunity to do so in Brentford. Brentford has struggled at home lately against powerhouses like Arsenal and Chelsea. I advise betting on a win for Tottenham, with better than fair odds at 1.9.

• Crystal Palace - Fulham. Crystal Palace have confirmed their great start of the season with 3 convincing wins against mid table teams in their last 3 home matches. Yet, Fulham is able to perform well away. With odds at 3.75, a draw provides a very interesting return on this match, this is the bet I advise to place.

• Everton - Wolverhampton. Both clubs were in free fall before the World Cup. The Wolves have appointed a new coach Julen Lopetegui to turn things around, who has been able to use the World Cup period to prepare his team. Yet their reaction is more likely to occur on a home game. I expect a win from Everton with odds at 2.25.

• Leicester - Newcastle. After their appalling start, Leicester is back at full speed from the bottom of the ranking, with 4 wins in the last 5 matches. Newcastle were impressive in their last away matches, with 4 wins in 5 matches. A draw with odds at 3.30 is a likely event for this match, this is the bet I would place.

• Southampton - Brighton. Southampton appointed new coach Nathan Jones in November with the objective to save the club from relegation. Brighton lost 3 of their last 5 away matches, they are a correct target for Southampton to start their turnaround. I advice to bet on a win for Southampton, which provides a good profit with odds at 3.50.

• Aston Villa - Liverpool. The end of the year has been tough for the Reds. I expect the team to be back in shape and willing to take a firm win to start 2023 in a positive manner. However, Aston Villa won their last two matches at home in an impressive way, and their high odds at 4.75 justify backing them.

• Arsenal - West Ham. This exciting Londonian derby has the Gunners strongly favorite, with odds at 1.50. Yet it's a good pay in regards to the teams’ current dynamics. West Ham has been very weak away from home, while Arsenal has completed 5 wins in their last 5 home matches. I advise you to bet on Arsenal.

• Chelsea - Bournemouth. Bournemouth has had an unstable start of the season, with positive and negative periods, but seems now stable in the middle of the ranks. Chelsea ended the first part of the season with 3 defeats in a row. With odds at 5.00, a surprising draw is a high odds risk I’m willing to take.

• Manchester United - Nottingham Forest. Manchester United has been very convincing at home with 4 wins in 5 matches. It’s hard to imagine Nottingham bringing back any point from this match. To spice up the odds, I advise betting on ManU winning at half time and full time, which sets the odds at 1.95.

• Leeds - Manchester City. Leeds had been in freefall at the start of the season, but managed to recover during the last matchdays. Manchester City’s odds are at 1.29, which is not a very interesting bet to place. I will place an over/under bet on this match, with odds at 2.75 for less than 2.5 goals.
