Arsenal in Champions League: is this the right season?

Are you thinking of placing a long bet on Arsenal climbing back to a Champions League spot at the end of the Premier League 2022/2023 season? You’re not the only one! I am prone to believe the Gunners have this qualification in their realm. This season, a lot of elements seem aligned to push them forward. Here is a recap of the reasons I advise to bet on Arsenal finishing in top 4:

• A regular progression. After finishing twice in 8th position in the Premier League, last season marked the return of the club in the higher spheres, with the 5th seat in the ranking. That result was a bit disappointing for Mikel Arteta who hoped to rejoin the Champions League. But overall, the club is on a clear progression path for a few seasons.

• Mikel Arteta is maturing. We can thank the club management for giving the time to the Spanish coach to progress and make an impact. Arsenal is his first club as the main manager, after a run at Manchester City as assistant coach. Arteta still has a lot to learn, but he is starting his fourth season as head coach for Arsenal. His best years are ahead.

• Excellent summer transfers. After letting go of talented but controversial Aubameyang to Barcelona, Arsenal had room to rebuild their attack. And they did it well, by signing Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City. Replaced as a center forward, Jesus integrated perfectly in the offensive playing style and was already decisive. Zinchenko and Viera are other good picks to help complete the team.

  

  Another transfer move that has paid off: the return from loan from central defender Saliba. The French gem truly blossomed in OM last season, and he is now ready to go even higher with the Gunners, with stellar performances since the start. 

  With a stable yet truly strengthened team, a coach who is in total control of his environment and a club that seems united around their management and fans, Arsenal looks like a natural contender for this season's Champions League tickets. They might take a decisive lead as other Premier League giants such as Liverpool and Manchester United are struggling right now.
